8-HOUR NYC DEP INCIDENT INVESTIGATION & REPORTING TRAINING

Why do you need NYC DEP Incident Investigation & Reporting Training? NYC DEP BEDC Environmental Health and Safety Standards require Contractor EHS Representatives and CM EHS Officers to be trained in Incident Investigation. This training helps workers and supervisors identify incidents, near misses, hazardous identifications, and observations; collect accurate information; determine contributing factors and root causes; document findings; and develop corrective and preventive actions. The course is designed to help contractors improve reporting accuracy, respond properly to incidents and near misses, and maintain alignment with NYC DEP BEDC EHS incident reporting and investigation requirements.

SELF-PACED ONLINE TRAINING FOR THE 8-HOUR NYC DEP INCIDENT INVESTIGATION & REPORTING COURSE

The 8-Hour NYC DEP Incident Investigation & Reporting Online Training gives participants the knowledge and practical skills needed to respond to workplace and environmental incidents in accordance with NYC DEP BEDC EHS standards. Participants learn how to identify hazards, collect and analyze incident information, determine root causes, document findings, and recommend corrective and preventive actions. The training also strengthens decision-making, communication, documentation, and reporting skills. Upon successful completion, participants automatically receive a course completion certificate by email. The certificate may be used as proof of training for submission where NYC DEP BEDC EHS requires Incident Investigation training documentation.

  2. Completion of Continuing Education and Training Registration Form
  3. Active participation in all class exercises (determined by course instructor)
  4. Completion of required pre-and post-quiz assessment
  5. As applicable, achievement of a minimum passing score on the required end-of-course examination
  6. Participation and submittal of end-of-course evaluation form (must provide name on form to receive credit)
